Steve Delgado is the Associate Dean for Campus Planning and Operations at Hostos Community College of The City University of New York (CUNY). He has been at Hostos for 42 years serving in various capacities. He began his higher educational career in an instructional capacity and shifted to the administrative track in 1980 by becoming the Director of General Institutional Services. In 2006 he was appointed the Associate Dean for Campus Planning and Operations.
Steve works closely with the New York State Dormitory Authority, various architects and CUNY’s central office in the development and implementation of the College’s current Master Plan and the development of its new Master Plan. He oversees capital construction projects and is directly responsible for the College’s engineering, maintenance and housekeeping units. During his tenure, he has assisted in the design and construction of three (3) new campus buildings, totaling over 450,000 gross square feet, and is now working on the phased renovation of one of the campus’ older buildings. It is during the design phase of this project, the concept of a collaborative classroom was created. His collaboration with the College’s faculty and Assistant Vice President for Information Technology made this concept a reality.
