Small Unmanned Arial Systems have seen incredible growth in recent years. Drones are no longer toys but useful pieces of equipment and everyday, more universities are taking advantage of them. Unfortunately, using them at and for schools isn't as easy as manufactures would suggest. This session aims to discuss the pitfalls of implementing the use of drones on campus for the vantage of one who's been there. Participants should take away:

  • An overview of the drone market place (including different uses in the university environment)
  • The legal requirements to operate a drone for commercial purposes (including FAA part 107)
  • Liability and insurance concerns
  • Putting together a policy
